Skillprint Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 24, 2022

Hello and welcome to Skillprint!  Skillprint identifies your strengths by observing the way you play mobile games. We then share those insights with you in an intuitive, fun, and engaging interface with the goal of empowering you to get ahead.  This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information in connection with our mobile application (the “App”).  It also explains your rights and choices with respect to such information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully and let us know if you have any questions.  By using the App or otherwise providing information to Skillprint, you are consenting to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.  This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference in the Skillprint Terms of Service, which govern your use of the App.

Information that We Collect

Personal information means any information that you provide to us which personally identifies you, or other data that can be reasonably associated with or linked to such information by Skillprint. We and our service providers collect a variety of personal information through the App and by other means, including:

  • Information you submit when you create or modify an account.  We collect certain information when you create a Skillprint account or modify your account information, which may include your name, general location information (e.g., city, state, zip code, and/or country), phone number, email address, username, password, and any profile picture you upload.

    • Third-party login services.  We may allow you to register and log in to Skillprint using third-party services, such as Facebook, Google, and/or LinkedIn.  If you choose to do so, these services may provide us with the same types of information listed above.

  • Information we collect when you play our games.  When you play games through our app, we may collect information about your response times, answers to questions, actions taken, and scores, points, or achievements you’ve earned.

  • Information we collect when you take our assessments.  We may also ask you questions about your interests, career goals, salary, personality, or cognitive abilities, and will collect any answers to such questions you choose to provide.

  • Information you submit when you contact us.  We collect information when you send us an email or submit information through the feedback form on our App.  This may include your name, email address, and the content of your communication.

  • Information you provide when you apply for a job through the App.  If you apply for a job through the App, we may collect your resume or other information that you send to us as part of your application.

  • Information we collect when you otherwise use the App.  We and our service providers automatically receive and record certain information when you use our App.  For example, this may include your device’s IP address, advertising identifiers, information about your use of the App during your current session and over time (including the content you view and your interactions with it), the date and time of your visit, links and buttons you click, searches conducted, your software and hardware attributes (including browser and operating system type and version), and your general location inferred from IP address.  To obtain such information, we or our service providers may use the following technologies to recognize your device and collect information about your usage of the App:

  • Server logs.  When you use the App, we automatically receive and record certain information from your phone (or other device).  To obtain such information, we may use server logs or applications that recognize your device and gather information about its online activity.

    • Cookies.  The App uses “cookies,” which are small text files that are stored on your computer that retain information like high scores you achieve on our games.  Should you wish to prevent your device from accepting cookies from the App, you can change the settings on your web browser to either block cookies sent from the App, or to disable cookies altogether.  Please note that the App may not function properly, or may function differently, if you choose not to receive cookies.

    • Web beacons.  The App or the emails that you receive from Skillprint may use an application known as a “web beacon” (also known as a “clear gif” or “pixel tag”).  A web beacon is an electronic file that usually consists of a single-pixel image.  It can be embedded in a web page or in an email to transmit information, which could include personal information.  For example, it allows an email sender to determine whether a user has opened a particular email.

    • Mobile advertising IDs and SDKs.  We or our service providers may use mobile advertising identifiers (such as Apple’s IDFA or Google’s Advertising ID) to collect information for analytics and interest-based advertising purposes, as described in the section below titled “Third-Party Advertising and Analytics.”  We also may include third-party software development kits (“SDK”) in our App.  An SDK consists of third-party code that we may use to add features to our App and allow our service providers to collect information through the App.

    • Scripts and local storage.  Our games may include embedded scripts that track user behavior, and we may access local storage on your device to collect data about your gameplay.

We may combine information collected through the App with information that we collect in other contexts, such as information from email communications with you.  We will treat such combined information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We and our service providers use the information that we collect for a variety of purposes, including:

  • Tailoring our content, advertisements, and offers.  This may include the use of third-party tools to send advertisements, as described in the section below titled “Third-Party Advertising and Analytics.”

  • Complying with legal and/or regulatory requirements.  For legal or other necessary purposes, including as described below in the section titled “How We Share information.”

We also use your information to generate aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify individual users.  This aggregated or de-identified data is used for our own business purposes as well as for other purposes consistent with applicable laws.

How We Share Information

We share information with third parties for a variety of reasons, including as follows:

  • Service providers.  We use service providers to help us manage and improve our App.  These service providers may collect and use your information to assist us in achieving the purposes discussed in this Privacy Policy.  For example, we may use third parties to send emails on our behalf, perform data storage and processing services, and perform analytics, including as described in the section below tiled “Third-Party Advertising and Analytics.”  Please note that, by accessing the App and using our services, you consent to the transfer of personal information to these service providers.

  • Legal purposes.  We may use or share information with third parties when we believe, in our sole reasonable discretion, that doing so is necessary:

    • To comply with applicable law or a court order, subpoena, or other legal process;

    • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal or prohibited activities, suspected fraud, violations of our rules or terms and conditions, or situations involving threats to other individuals, our property, or the property or physical safety of any person or third party; or

Third-Party Advertising and Analytics

When you access our App and use our services, we may serve you advertisements regarding goods and services that may be of interest to you (or in some cases, to users whom our service providers deem to have characteristics or interests similar to our customers) based on information relating to your use of the App and other websites.  To do so, we or our advertising partners (such as Facebook) may collect information about your activities on our App on your current device as well as mobile advertising IDs (such as Apple’s IDFA or Google’s Advertising ID) and combine it with information about your activities on other websites, mobile apps, and devices.  They may collect such information using server logs, cookies, web beacons, tags, pixels, cross-device linking, and similar technologies.  For example, our advertising partners may use the fact that you used our App to target advertising to you on non-Skillprint websites and mobile apps on your current device or on other devices you use.  For information about interest-based advertising practices, including privacy and confidentiality, visit the Network Advertising Initiative website or the Digital Advertising Alliance website.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising and cross-device linking in web browsers and mobile apps on your current browser or device by following the instructions below.

  • Mobile application opt-out.  To opt out in mobile apps, you can adjust the advertising preferences on your mobile device.  In iOS, visit Settings > Privacy > Advertising > Limit Ad Tracking.  In Android, visit Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of interest-based ads or Opt out of Personalized Advertising.  Our app does respond to these signals.

You can also opt out for participating companies by downloading the Digital Advertising Alliance’s AppChoices tool.  For more information about opting out on mobile devices, please see https://www.networkadvertising.org/mobile-choice.

Please note that the opt-outs described above will apply only to the specific browser or device from which you opt out, and therefore you will need to opt out separately on all of your browsers and devices.  If you delete or reset your cookies or mobile advertising identifiers, change browsers (including upgrading certain browsers), or use a different device, any opt-out cookie or tool may no longer work, and you will need to opt out again.

We may use Facebook Custom Audiences to deliver advertisements on Facebook.  You can learn more about this service by visiting Facebooks’s Custom Audiences Page, and you can learn how to adjust how ads are targeted to you based on your activity on Facebook by visiting here.  We may also use Twitter Tailored Audiences to deliver advertisements on Twitter.  You can learn more about this service by visiting Twitter’s Tailored Audiences Page, and you can learn more about how to adjust how ads are targeted to you based on your activity on Twitter by visiting here.

We also partner with certain third parties to collect information to engage in analytics.  These third parties may use server logs, web beacons, tags, pixels, mobile device identifiers, and similar technologies, and they may set and access cookies on your computer or other device.  We use the information collected through these technologies to analyze content views, conversions, and information about usage habits.  In particular, our App uses Google Firebase to help collect and analyze certain information for the purposes discussed above.  You may learn more about Google Firebase’s data practices by clicking here.
